Sphere 3D's bitcoin production rises 74% M/M in December
Sphere 3D ( NASDAQ: ANY ) shares gained 2% in Wednesday's premarket session after bitcoin miner reported a 74% M/M growth in bitcoin ( BTC-USD ) production for December 2022. The company mined 17.93 bitcoin or 0.58/day in the month, with its mining fleet operating at 113.3 BTC/EH efficiency. Based on a bitcoin price of $16,510 on December 31, 2022, the equivalent approximate value of December production totaled $296,024. However, severe weather across North America in late December caused brief downtime across each of Sphere 3D's ( ANY ) hosting sites. Since the company began its mining operations during the first quarter of 2022, it has produced 131.01 bitcoin. It held 103.01 bitcoin as of December 31, 2022.
